I never wanted to be a wedding photographer.

Wait… SAY WHAAAAA

You heard me… I never wanted to be a wedding photographer!

I actually worked along side a wedding photographer in college and after 5 months by her side, I came to the conclusion, this was SO NOT WHAT I WANTED.

Man God is funny 😂😂😂

You see it was too much stress, too much chaos, to many personalities to please, my feet hurt, I was always sweaty, my back was sore, it was NOT as glamorous as it all seemed and definitely not what I envisioned 😂

But what I wish I knew then, is this.
Not every couple is your couple.
Not every job is your job.
Not every venue is your cup of tea.

What I wish I knew was that not all weddings are the same and that’s why there are so many of us out there! Because we all have a niche we fit into, a bride who we bond with, a groom we can make feel comfortable, a venue we love to shoot at, and so on.

You see what I didn’t realize is that what worked for her, didn’t work for me. Her weddings were not the type of clients I attracted. And it took me a long time to realize that that, was ok!!

Because even though my feet still hurt, my back still gets sore, and there is still lots of people pleasing, being within my niche makes every moment worth it.

I have a brand. I have a type of client and wedding that works for me and my business! And I no longer take it personally when I don’t fit a client’s mold. Because you know what? There’s a photographer out there that does! There’s a photographer out there they will love, and bond with, and who will gush over everything about their wedding, that to be honest, maybe l wasn’t so excited about. Someone out there likes the things you don’t.

So what’s my niche?

I’m a photographer for the romantics, the down to earth, the lets have fun and pop champagne! The “lets sneak out of the reception for sunset photos”.

I’m someone for the fun spirits, the laid back couple who wants to, not just have gorgeous images, but also have a great time while doing it! I love laughter, and giggles, and cuddles. I love when we don’t take the day too seriously, and just enjoy the moments as they come.

I love keeping my images true to color, and utilizing the light to make my subjects look magical. I am obsessed with a pretty background, and greenery is my jam! I squeal at pretty florals, and will party all night with my couples as they dance the night away! I love weddings. And I love the joy that comes with them.

So Say it again, 🗣🗣🗣 not all weddings are the same and that’s ok
You do your thing! You find that niche!
